Jail Division
The custody staff is comprised of 12, full-time jail officers who are responsible for overseeing the inmate population and safety and security of the jail. They are also responsible for court duties, record keeping, care and upkeep of the physical facility, records checks and assisting the public with questions and concerns.

Visitors need to report to the jail 15 minutes early to sign-in for a visit. Inmates are allowed 1, 30-minute visit per week. Clergy and visits from attorneys are not included in that time. You MUST have a valid form of ID and be on an inmate's approved visitor list or your visit will be denied.
PropertyWe do not accept any property from the outside unless approved by the jail administration. All toiletries, clothing and bedding are supplied and/or made available within the facility. Religious and spiritual materials are provided by our chaplain and volunteer clergy. Paperback books will be accepted only as a donation to the inmate library for all inmates to use. Medical staff oversee the acceptance of medications and/or medical devices.
Jail staff receive training in areas such as the use of O.C., TASER, sign and symptom recognition, suicide prevention, mental health, searches, intake procedures, policy, jail standards, first aid and CPR - to name just a few. All jail officers are required to successfully complete the 40-hour, Indiana Jail Officers Course.
Court For new inmates we do not know when they will make their initial appearance until the court calls for them. At that first appearance a person will be advised of their rights, read their charges, advised what their bond is, asked if they have counsel or need assistance with obtaining counsel and a trial date set.

As a general rule anyone newly arrested while on probation or out on another bond will not be allowed to post 10% at the time of their arrest. Persons arrested for domestic battery are not eligible to bond until 8 hours have passed.

You will need the offender's name or INDOC number. This site will give you the most recent location of an offender. For security reasons we cannot release the transport date of INDOC inmates.
Vine Link
Here you can register for an alert notifying you that an inmate has been released from custody. You can receive notification via phone or email. To begin, click on the link below and then click on your corresponding state on the map. Our facility participates in this program.
Nuisance Calls
If you are receiving harassing calls, multiple attempted calls, are a victim or witness in a criminal case or are a protected party and are receiving calls from an inmate in this facility contact us and we will block your number and conduct a criminal investigation if applicable.
Commissary
Order forms are distributed Tuesday evenings and the orders are passed out on Wednesday afternoons.
Inmate Communications Telephone
We do not pass non-emergency messages. All inmates have access to a telephone within their block and have the ability to write letters. Troubleshooting: To set up an inmate phone account or for assistance/support contact Securus at 1-866-844-6591
U.S. Mail 
Must have a legible, valid return name and address. The delivery address should have the inmate's name, cell block (if known), c/o the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, 24 S. State Street, Sullivan, IN 47882. If a letter is received for an inmate who is no longer in this facility it will be returned to the post office. Mail that does not have adequate postage will be refused.
